Louisville basketball is set to travel to the Bahamas for a pair of exhibition contests scheduled for July 28 and 29, where the Cardinals will face Caribbean opposition as part of the Baha Mar Hoops Summer League.
Coach Pat Kelsey has used the extended summer schedule to add extra on‑court work, a strategy he says will help the team integrate nine newcomers while preserving the development of the sole returning scholarship player.
Among the newcomers, three names stand out: Alvaro Folgueiras, a 6‑foot‑10 forward from Spain who spent the 2025‑26 season at Iowa, where he posted 8.4 points and 3.6 rebounds and can operate across multiple positions; London Johnson, a 6‑3 guard who last appeared in the G League in 2025 and logged 8.5 points and 3.4 assists per game; and De'Shayne Montgomery, a 6‑4 wing defender who topped the Atlantic 10 in steals last season and averaged 13.4 points and 4 rebounds at Dayton.
The influx also includes Cameron Boozer, Flory Bidunga, Jackson Shelstad and Gabe Dynes, each of whom brings a different skill set as the program embraces a wave of talent ahead of the 2026‑27 campaign.
Beyond the on‑court work, the trip offers a chance to build chemistry in a new environment, with the team scheduled to practice locally before heading to Nassau, where the games will be played in front of a growing international audience.
