Louisville’s football program is set to benefit from the return of two experienced defensive backs, Jabari Mack and Kalib Perry, after the NCAA approved a fifth year of eligibility under its ‘5‑for‑5’ rule.
A Strategic Boost for the Defense
Mack, who transferred from Jacksonville State in 2025, emerged as a starter at cornerback, logging 34 tackles, two interceptions and two pass breakups last season. Perry, a linebacker originally from Georgetown, contributed 55 tackles and an interception while playing at Tennessee before joining the Cardinals.
Their reinstatement comes as head coach Jeff Brohm, who has previously spoken about the value of veteran presence, confirmed that the staff will evaluate all eligible players for potential reintegration.
