Leopards Secure 5-3 Victory Over Eagles
The Louisville Leopards improved their season record to 13‑9 after a hard‑fought 5‑3 victory over the St. Edward Eagles on Tuesday night.
Jake Beard delivered the decisive blow with a two‑run single in the seventh inning, turning a 3‑3 tie into a 5‑3 lead that proved enough for the Leopards.
Grayson Brunoni opened the scoring with the first run of the contest and also contributed on the mound, pitching four and one‑third innings while allowing just one run.
St. Edward answered in the sixth inning, tying the game at three, but the Eagles could not maintain the momentum as Louisville’s bullpen stepped in.
Reliever Trevor Burick threw a clean ninth inning, preserving the lead, while starter Grant Lashutka surrendered three runs over six frames for St. Edward.
The Leopards’ offense was anchored by Max Roberts, who stole two bases, and a balanced attack that saw Logan Faup, Grant Lashutka and Leo DeAngelo each drive in a run.
Will Addington led St. Edward with three hits and added two stolen bases, while the Eagles accumulated 11 hits overall.
Looking ahead, Louisville will travel to face Boardman on Monday, a matchup that could further shape their playoff positioning.
