Goalkeeper Nathaniel Abraham made two crucial saves in the second half, preserving the lead.
The women’s side answered with a 4-2 win over Dayton, a match that featured a flurry of goals from four different players. Trista Morris, Abby Cox, Grace Maddox and Liz Eddy each found the net, underscoring the team’s depth early in the season.
Early-Season Momentum
What stands out is the spread of scoring across both squads. In the first four games the Cardinals have tallied 15 goals, and five different athletes have recorded their first career goals, a sign of balanced offensive contributions.
Looking ahead, the men will host the Indiana Hoosiers on Monday at 7 p.m. ET, while the women travel to face Akron on Sunday, August 30, at 1 p.m. ET.
