The Huskies were preseasoned third in the Horizon League and bring back 14 players from a year ago, including Sheffield, who earned All-Missouri Valley Second Team and MVC All-Freshman Team honors after a six-goal, five-assist campaign in 2025. The all-time series favors NIU at 13-8-3, though Loyola has won the last five meetings since 2015.
