LSU baseball has secured a commitment from former Notre Dame outfielder Bino Watters, the No. 3 prospect in the transfer portal, adding a potent bat to a roster that missed the NCAA tournament this past season.
Watters arrives after a sophomore season in which he posted a 1.057 OPS, hit 10 home runs and scored 46 runs while batting .362 with a .610 slugging percentage.
His addition directly addresses the outfield production lost to the professional ranks, a void that contributed to the Tigers' first tournament miss since 2011.
A timely boost for Jay Johnson's rebuilding project
Head coach Jay Johnson, who has been reshaping the squad, called Watters a key piece as LSU looks to restore its competitive edge and climb back into the national conversation.
Watters is the third transfer addition in the current cycle, joining pitcher Landon Hood and shortstop Dawson Park, underscoring an aggressive effort to upgrade talent across the board.
