All-SEC Honors for LSU Baseball
LSU’s baseball program added another chapter to its storied history as four of its standouts were recognized on the All‑SEC teams announced this week, a testament to the squad’s depth and competitiveness.
Derek Curiel, a junior outfielder, earned a second‑team All‑SEC selection and also secured a spot on the SEC All‑Defensive Team, underscoring his impact both at the plate and in the field.
Steven Milam, another junior, joined Curiel on the second team and contributed to the defensive unit, posting a 33‑game on‑base streak and maintaining a near‑perfect fielding percentage.
Freshmen Omar Serna Jr. and Mason Braun were named to the Freshman All‑SEC list, each ranking among the team’s top hitters in SEC contests, with Serna batting .320 in league play and Braun leading the squad at .355.
Coaching staff highlighted Curiel’s lead in multiple‑hit games and his proximity to the top of the RBI chart, while noting Milam’s minimal error count across 207 defensive chances, reflecting his reliability.
The accolades not only celebrate individual excellence but also signal the program’s strength as it prepares for the upcoming NCAA tournament, with university officials expressing confidence in the team’s postseason prospects.
