A Missed Opportunity in Tempe
LSU soccer suffered a 1-0 loss to Arizona State at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium in Tempe, ending the Tigers' season with a 1-4-0 record.
The decisive goal came in the 29th minute when Emmie Ennis struck unassisted, giving the hosts an early lead.
Despite controlling 52 percent of possession, LSU managed only three shots on target from a total of ten attempts, while Arizona State outshot them 15-10 and earned eight corners to LSU's single corner.
Goalkeeper Kennedy Zorn made crucial saves, including two stops on Ryann Denecour and Allie Fryer in the first half, and later denied Ava Galligan in the 87th minute for a third save.
Late in the match, Berglind Hlynsdottir, Allie Fryer, Ryann Denecour and Ryleigh Albin added further attempts, but none found the net.
LSU will look to rebound when they meet Arizona again on Sunday, August 30 at noon CT at the same venue.
