LSU’s football operations office has disclosed a combined payroll of $2.59 million for the 2026 season, a figure that places several of its front‑office executives among the highest‑paid in college football.
At the top of the list is Billy Glasscock, the general manager, who will receive a $1 million salary annually, cementing his status as one of the most lucrative GMs in the sport.
Glasscock’s compensation trails only Michael Lombardi of the University of North Carolina, who earns $1.5 million, and Vince Marrow of the University of Louisville, whose paycheck stands at $1.2 million.
Other senior staff include Thaddeus Rivers, the football operations director, with a $300,000 salary; Dwike Wilson, senior executive recruiting director, at $275,000; and Mike Williams, player personnel director, earning $265,000. Adam Clark, assistant GM, follows with $250,000, while Jon Randall Belton, assistant GM for external operations, and Taylor Jacobs, chief strategy officer, each receive $200,000. Completing the top tier, Ed Orgeron, special assistant to defense and recruiting, is paid $100,000.
Executive Pay in Context
The disclosed figures come as LSU, a flagship institution of the Louisiana State University system, continues to invest heavily in its football program’s administrative backbone. Comparable spending patterns are evident at other major programs, including the University of Mississippi and the University of North Carolina, where similar compensation structures support ambitious recruiting and performance goals.
Industry observers note that the growing financial commitments reflect the increasing professionalism of college football management, where front‑office roles now command salaries that rival those in the National Football League’s front offices. The data also underscores the role of the USA TODAY Network in disseminating these details to a national audience.
