Siena Men’s Soccer head coach Graciano Brito revealed this week that midfielder Lucas Horja will be part of the Saints’ roster for the upcoming season, a move that adds depth and experience to the midfield.
Horja, a native of Guilderland, New York, returns to the Capital Region after a standout youth career that included leading his high school team to sectional, regional and state‑final appearances.
Following graduation, he spent four years with Hartford Athletic Academy and competed at the MLS NEXT level with Oakwood Soccer Club, where he finished as the club’s top goal scorer across the combined fall and spring campaigns.
His development continued abroad when he trained with Romania’s League 2 side CSM Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț, giving him exposure to a different tactical environment.
Although he enrolled at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) for the 2025 season, Horja did not make a competitive appearance, a period that nonetheless prepared him for the next step in his career.

The Saints’ recent achievements have set a new standard for the program, and the coaching staff is eager to maintain momentum by integrating players who understand the local soccer culture.
