Lucy Hope, a Scottish international midfielder, has confirmed that she will bring her playing days to a close, ending a career that began in 2012 and spanned clubs across Scotland, Sweden and England.
A decade of service at Everton
During her spell with Everton, Hope made nearly 100 appearances and contributed 12 goals, including striking strikes against Liverpool at Anfield and Chelsea at Goodison Park that remain etched in the club's recent history.
She repeatedly praised the unwavering support of Everton supporters, describing the club as a second home that nurtured both her professional ambitions and personal growth.
Off the pitch, Hope’s life took another turn when she married partner Scott in 2022 and welcomed son Jensen Jordan Hope in November 2025, prompting a temporary sabbatical during the 2025/26 season to focus on family.
Now, with a sense of closure, Hope announced her retirement, thanking Everton for the community that shaped her and expressing optimism for the next chapter beyond the pitch.
