The University of North Florida announced this week that former elite goalkeeper mentor Ludvig Rhodin will join the Osprey men’s soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach, bringing a wealth of experience in player development and training.
Rhodin’s career spans several high‑profile programs, including a recent tenure as academy goalkeepers coach for Atlanta United’s U‑13 through U‑18 sides, a role he has held since 2026, and a stint as co‑founder of the Elite Goalkeeper Camp that draws talent from across the United States.
A proven developer of talent
During his time at Clayton State University, Rhodin helped guide the men’s soccer team to a 13‑4‑4 record and a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament, while also mentoring standout keeper Mauricio Uribe. Earlier, his contributions at Des Moines Menace in the USL League Two and at Davis & Elkins College culminated in a 16‑3‑1 season and a No. 1 ranking in the 2022 United Soccer Coaches Division II poll.
Beyond college and semi‑professional settings, Rhodin has organized camps that attract goalkeepers from throughout the country, sharpening their technical skills and mental resilience.
He holds U.S. Soccer National C and D coaching licenses and earned a master’s degree in Sport Management from Western Illinois University in 2022, a combination that underscores his blend of academic insight and practical expertise.
Marlon Montanella, who leads the Osprey program, highlighted Rhodin’s professionalism, attention to detail, and player‑centered approach as the key reasons for his recruitment, stating that the new hire aligns perfectly with the team’s ambition to contend for conference titles and NCAA Tournament spots.
