Luke Strege has been elevated to associate head coach of the North Dakota State Bison men’s basketball program, a move that cements his growing influence within the team’s staff.
Strege joined the Bison in June 2023 and is now entering his fourth season, having previously compiled a stellar record at Mineral Area College where he posted a 199‑46 mark over eight years.
Head coach David Richman lauded Strege’s competitive drive and relentless work ethic, noting that his presence has reshaped the program’s culture.
The Bison capped the 2025‑26 campaign with a school‑record 27 victories, swept the Summit League regular season and tournament, and secured their sixth NCAA Tournament appearance since 2009.

Under Strege’s guidance, the offense exploded onto the national stage, topping Division I in three‑point percentage and posting a 62.2% true shooting mark, while the team set a new school record with 380 three‑pointers made.
