Saltillo senior goalkeeper Lynley McCarley has been crowned the Gatorade Mississippi Girls Soccer Player of the Year for the 2025‑26 season, a testament to a dominant campaign that helped her team clinch a fourth consecutive Class 6A state title.
A Season Defined by Shutouts
She posted a career‑high 22 shutouts, scored five goals and helped her squad outscore opponents 146‑8, finishing the year with a 24‑4 record.
DeSoto Central soccer coach Josh Metzger praised McCarley, calling her a quality keeper and noting the impact of her presence between the posts.
Committed to Arkansas State University, McCarley will bring a career total of 66 clean sheets to the Red Wolves program.
A Tradition of Excellence
