University of North Dakota’s junior winger Mac Swanson is making steady progress in his rehabilitation after offseason shoulder surgery, with head coach Dane Jackson confirming that the player is ahead of schedule and fully expected to be ready for the team’s opening game of the 2026‑27 season.
Swanson’s breakout sophomore campaign saw him record 11 goals and 28 points in 40 appearances, positioning him among the program’s most dynamic offensive threats heading into the new year.
All 26 members of the Fighting Hawks roster have converged in Grand Forks for the summer, a logistical hub that also serves as the base for several participants in the World Junior Summer Showcase.
Showcase Highlights
Four UND prospects — forward Cole Reschny, defensemen Keaton Verhoeff and Carson Carels — are currently representing Team Canada at the showcase, while freshman forward Cooper Simpson dons the red, white and blue for Team USA. Carter Sanderson, a 2027 forward commit, also joins the American contingent.
