A weekend of triumph for Mad City FC
Mad City FC, the youth soccer collective representing the Madras community, arrived in Bend with five squads ready to compete in the annual Bend Premier Cup, a showcase event that draws some of the Pacific Northwest’s most promising young talent.
Over three intense days, the U9, U13/14 and U16/17 teams each fought their way to second‑place finishes, a result that underscored the club’s growing depth and the effectiveness of its developmental model.
The U16/17 side displayed poise and tactical awareness when confronting older, more experienced opponents, while the U13/14 group impressed with relentless work ethic and tight team chemistry. Even the youngest cohort, the U9, surprised observers with enthusiasm, sportsmanship and skill that belied their age.
Club officials credit the achievements to the unwavering dedication of players, coaches and families, as well as to the backing of local partners such as Bend FC, Jefferson County, the Jefferson County School District 509J, JCYSA and Jefferson County ROOTS, all of which helped provide facilities, logistics and moral support.
Looking ahead, Mad City FC is already planning its next step: the creation of a girls’ team that will join the competitive circuit next season, a move that reflects the club’s ambition to broaden participation and nurture talent across the region.
