Maddax Kincannon, a former Northside baseball standout, has turned a high school passion into a college pitching prospect at National Park College.
The transition from high school to college baseball was smoother than many expected, allowing him to concentrate almost exclusively on his role on the mound.
During his freshman season with the Nighthawks, Kincannon earned All‑Region honors and was recognized as the team’s top reliever, a testament to his rapid adaptation and skill.
A Slider That Speaks Volumes
His go‑to weapon is a sharp slider that he trusts in any count, often baffling batters and setting up innings for his teammates.
Kincannon credits much of his development to his father, Mark Kincannon, a former player and coach who introduced him to the fundamentals of the game.
Currently, he pitches for the Fort Smith Sportsman American Legion team, where he continues to refine his craft while completing a business management degree with a 3.65 GPA.
Balancing Studies and the Game
Off the field, Kincannon manages a full academic load, maintaining a strong GPA and planning to return to National Park College in the fall to finish his coursework.
Despite his undersized frame, he believes his work ethic and pitch repertoire give him a realistic chance to compete at higher levels of play.
