Mageo Chooses Michigan Over West Coast Rivals

Michigan’s football program received a major jolt this weekend when four-star interior lineman Lincoln Mageo announced his commitment to the Wolverines, selecting Ann Arbor over Utah and Washington.

Mageo, a 6-foot-4, 280-pound prospect from Oceanside, California, revealed his decision on Saturday, July 11, after weighing offers from a dozen top programs that included Ohio State, Texas and USC.

The recruit is ranked No. 19 among interior linemen nationally, No. 31 in California, and No. 369 overall in the class of 2027 according to 247Sports' composite rankings.

Gabe Brooks, a 247Sports analyst, highlighted Mageo’s physical tools, noting that he "shows strong drive-blocking ability in the run game with flashes of heavy-handed pop."

Mageo becomes the fourth offensive-line pledge to join Michigan’s 2027 class, a group that now stands at 21 commitments and is positioned No. 19 in the national team rankings.

Position coach Jim Harding will oversee his development, while other recent signees such as Jakari Lipsey, Sidney Rouleau, Louis Esposito, Lou Esposito and Tony Garcia add further depth to the roster.

The commitment underscores Michigan’s ability to attract top talent from the West Coast, reinforcing the Wolverines’ recruiting momentum as they look to climb higher in the upcoming season.
