Magnolia Heights Academy captured its eighth straight MAIS baseball championship on Saturday, completing a 2-0 sweep of Madison‑Ridgeland Academy that underscored the program’s dynasty.
A Pitcher’s Masterclass
Cole Prosek, the senior right‑hander who has already committed to Ole Miss, delivered a complete‑game effort that yielded just one earned run while fanning nine batters. At the plate he added a home run and drove in two runs, sealing the victory with a clutch performance that left coaches and opponents alike impressed.
A Roster Built for Victory
The championship was not a solo act. The team’s chemistry, forged through a grueling non‑conference slate that included 18 out‑of‑state opponents, has been a cornerstone of its sustained success. With 18 titles across program history, Magnolia Heights has turned winning into a tradition, and this year’s squad was stacked with Division I talent, including Ole Miss signees Christian Doty and a host of other prospects.
Beyond the Diamond
Coach Chris McMinn praised the culture that has kept the program at the top, noting that the players’ work ethic and collective mindset are as vital as any statistical metric. The senior class, featuring standouts such as Quincy Pratt, Alex Lambert and Michael Chavez, will move on to college careers that many expect to be equally distinguished.
Future Outlook
As the team looks ahead, the blend of seasoned veterans and emerging talent promises to keep Magnolia Heights in the conversation for future championships. The program’s partnership with Ole Miss continues to provide a pipeline of skilled athletes, ensuring that the next generation will inherit a winning mentality.
