The University of Maine baseball squad delivered a commanding 12‑0 victory over UAlbany on Thursday afternoon, a game cut short by the mercy rule after seven innings.
Offensive onslaught
Juju Stevens opened the scoring with a solo home run in the first inning, extending his season total to 13 and tying him for the team lead. Quinn Murphy followed with his fifth homer of the year, while Nic Pepe and Albert De La Rosa each added two‑run shots in the fifth, and Troy Carpenter capped the burst with a three‑run double in the sixth.
On the mound, Jason Krieger turned in a complete game, surrendering just one run on two hits while striking out six and walking none.
The Black Bears will look to keep the momentum Friday night when they host UAlbany again at 3 p.m., aiming to close out the weekend series with another strong performance.
