MAIS All-State Soccer Teams Spotlight Madison County Stars

Christ Covenant and Jackson Academy lead honorees with Player and Coach of the Year awards

The Mid-South Association of Independent Schools has released its All-State soccer teams for the recent season, spotlighting a wave of talent from the Madison County area.

Local Stars Shine in All-State Selections

Christ Covenant’s dominance in the Class 1-3A division was evident, as Mary Frances McGaugh captured Player of the Year honors while her coach, Craig McCabe, was named Coach of the Year. The squad also saw Eliza Grace Ethridge, Lorin Ezelle, Olivia Hembree and Avery McDonald earn All-State selections.

Jackson Academy was equally celebrated, with Izzy Scott taking the 4A Player of the Year award and Coach Phillip Buffington receiving Coach of the Year recognition. Additional Jackson Academy standouts — Ella King, Mylee Maurer and Avery Pickering — joined the All-State list.

Other local programs contributed as well: Presley Arnold, Blair Britt, Lucy Davis and Katelyn Edwards from MRA, and Maggie Bailey, Meg Barbour, Caroline Blackwell, Anna Impastato and Morgan Marion from Jackson Prep were all named to the All-State roster.

The recognitions reflect a competitive season across the region and underscore the growing strength of independent-school soccer in the Mid-South, with coaches and players alike expressing pride in the achievements.
