Marshall's No. 1 Debut
Florida State University announced that Malachi Marshall, the highly touted transfer quarterback, will sport the No. 1 jersey for the upcoming season.
Marshall arrives in Tallahassee after a two‑year stint at Iowa Western Community College, where he led the team to the NJCAA National Championship with a 12‑1 record.
During that lone season he completed 201 of 319 passes for 2,750 yards, 33 touchdowns and only eight interceptions, while also rushing for 120 yards and three scores.
His efficiency placed him atop all JUCO quarterbacks in passing touchdowns and second in passing yards, numbers that have generated considerable buzz among analysts.
Coach Mike Norvell has said the competition for the starting spot will be fierce, but Marshall’s experience and arm strength make him a strong contender.
A New Era for the Seminoles
The move also marks a symbolic shift for the Seminoles, who hope the No. 1 jersey will energize the offense and reconnect with fans eager for a resurgence.
Marshall will have three years of eligibility left, giving him ample time to develop within the program and potentially lead the team to its own championship run.
