Violent Encounter in Central Lincoln
At approximately 7:26 a.m. on Tuesday, a 35‑year‑old man was walking near the intersection of South 27th Street and J Street in downtown Lincoln when he was suddenly assaulted.
The assailant struck the victim repeatedly with a baseball bat, hitting his legs and head, and then brandished a handgun, pointing it at the victim and issuing a direct threat.
Arrest and Charges
Police arrived within minutes and took the suspect into custody. The man, identified as 48‑year‑old Kenneth Bordeaux, was subsequently booked on counts of second‑degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
During the investigation, officers also uncovered evidence of a controlled substance in Bordeaux’s possession, leading to an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance.
