Manhattan University’s women’s basketball program, known as the Jaspers, has announced its complete 2026‑27 slate, a schedule that blends tradition with fresh challenges. The announcement was made in partnership with the Metro Conference, underscoring the team’s commitment to competitive play within the league.
A historic opening night
The season kicks off on the first Monday in November with a landmark game against Division II Pace at Draddy Gymnasium. This matchup marks the first meeting between the Jaspers and Pace in program history and sets a high bar for the weeks that follow.
Early November also brings the first Division I contests: a road trip to Albany to face the Great Danes on November 5, followed by a home clash with Bryant on November 8. The 57th Battle of the Bronx arrives on November 15, pitting the Jaspers against cross‑town rival Fordham in front of a home crowd.
Thanksgiving and the road ahead
During Thanksgiving week the team travels to Florida for the FIU Tournament, playing on November 27 and 29. After returning home, the non‑conference stretch continues with victories over Le Moyne (December 2), NJIT (December 5) and CCSU (December 15), building momentum before conference play begins.
The Metro schedule opens on December 19 with a home game against Fairfield, the same opponent that opened last season’s league slate. The Jaspers will also test themselves on New Year’s Day at Merrimack, marking the fourth meeting in three decades and the second straight year on that date.
Rivalry renewed and championship chase
February brings the renewed rivalry with Iona, featuring games in Riverdale on February 4 and in New Rochelle on February 15. The regular season then wraps up with home contests against Quinnipiac (February 11), Rider (February 13) and Saint Peter’s (February 20), each offering a chance to fine‑tune ahead of the postseason.
The year culminates with the 2027 Metro Women’s Basketball Championship at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ, scheduled from March 4 to March 8. The tournament promises a showcase of the Jaspers’ growth and the culmination of a demanding but rewarding campaign.
