Summer Aquatics and Fall Soccer Programs
The Manistee Recreation Association (MRA) is set to provide a series of youth swim lessons from July 27 through August 6, catering to a range of ages and skill levels.
Tot swim lessons, designed for children between six months and three years, will be held each weekday from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. starting July 28 and continuing through August 6.
Preschool classes for three‑ and four‑year‑olds are scheduled for either 5:45 p.m.‑6:15 p.m. or 6:15 p.m.‑6:45 p.m. during the same July 27‑August 6 window.
Older youth, ages five through twelve, can also join the program at the same two time slots, giving families flexibility in planning.
A brief evaluation to place participants in the appropriate level will take place on July 22 at 6:00 p.m., preceding the first lesson.
All swim lessons carry a flat fee of $60, and they will be conducted at the Paine Aquatic Center located at Manistee Middle High School.
Fall Soccer Registration and Schedule
Registration for the MRA fall soccer league remains open until 5:00 p.m. on August 5, after which the season will commence on August 24 and run through September 26.
The soccer program is divided into four age divisions — 3‑4, kindergarten, lower elementary and upper elementary — each with its own game schedule, ranging from four matches for the youngest group to six‑to‑eight games for the older divisions, played on Saturdays, Thursdays or Mondays as appropriate.
Participating residences are charged $30, while non‑participating residences pay $72, and the league welcomes families from the city of Manistee as well as several surrounding townships.
Together, these aquatic and soccer offerings aim to promote healthy activity and community engagement for families across the region.
