Manny Marin, a shortstop who spent the last two seasons at Tennessee, announced his commitment to the Arkansas Razorbacks for the 2027 campaign, bringing a blend of offensive potential and elite defensive talent to Fayetteville.
During his sophomore year with the Volunteers, Marin batted .291 and drove in 43 runs while hitting nine home runs. His .976 fielding percentage underscored a reputation for sure‑handed play at the hot corner and a quick first step at shortstop, traits that have drawn praise from coaches and scouts alike.
Marin will join a Razorbacks infield that already boasts several high‑profile recruits. Alongside him, the team has secured commitments from former pitcher Brayden Krenzel, infielders Ben Cleary, Dawson Bryce and Wills Maginnis, and outfielder Nolan Souza, who may return for a fifth year under the NCAA’s new eligibility rule. The depth adds a competitive edge as Arkansas prepares for fall practice.
Looking Ahead
If Marin and his fellow draft‑eligible peers decide to sign professional contracts this summer, Arkansas could see a reshuffling of its roster before the next season. Nonetheless, the current commitment signals the program’s ambition to remain a contender in the SEC and to build on recent successes.
