The Maple Grove Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) youth basketball camp concluded after a whirlwind registration period that saw every one of its 180 slots snapped up in just six minutes after online sign‑ups opened in March.
Held on the familiar courts of Maple Grove Middle School in Minnesota, the camp offered intensive drills, mentorship and a chance for youngsters to sharpen their game under the guidance of seasoned coaches.
A Family Affair on the Hardwood
At the heart of the event was the Davison family, long celebrated as the first family of Maple Grove basketball. Cori Davison, the camp’s director, coordinated the schedule while her daughters, Stephanie Fort and Angie Tusler, brought their own playing and coaching experience from Northern Iowa to the sidelines.
Brad Davison, a former Wisconsin standout, returned to coach both at the University of Wisconsin and the camp, continuing a tradition that began when his grandfather, Jim Davison, retired from his own coaching duties earlier this summer.
For many participants, the camp was more than skill development; it became a rare gathering of a dispersed clan. Relatives who now live in Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin converged under one roof, sharing stories and basketball memories that spanned generations.
The final day ended with a sense of community that extended beyond the gym, as parents and players alike reflected on the unique blend of sport, faith and family that the FCA camp embodies.
