The week showcased a blend of offensive firepower and solid pitching, underscoring the squad’s depth as they prepare for the upcoming stretch of games.
On Sunday, June 28, the team hosted a doubleheader against Hingham Post 120 and emerged with two wins. In the opener, Matt Almeida went 4‑for‑4 with two stolen bases and two RBIs, while Owen Dorego earned the victory on the mound and Noah Cahoon contributed a scoreless inning in relief. The nightcap saw Matt Sherry go 2‑for‑3 with a pair of stolen bases, and Dorego added a two‑run homer; Bobby Leach was credited with the win in the second game.
A few days later, Maplewood faced Dartmouth Post 307 and pulled away with an 11‑run second inning that set the tone for the rest of the contest. Owen Dorego, Tanyon Reis and Matt Sherry each collected two hits and drove in two runs, and Sherry was awarded the win for his pitching performance.
