The buzz surrounding soccer in North America has not bypassed Marblehead High School, where the boys' varsity team is gearing up for a fresh campaign. The recent World Cup served as a catalyst, drawing more eyes to the sport and promising a swell in player sign‑ups and fan attendance.
Last season the squad finished with an 11‑6‑2 record, only to see their run end in the Round of 32 against ninth‑seeded Hingham. The experience left the players hungry for improvement and gave the coaching staff a clear baseline from which to build.

The preseason will begin with a series of scrimmages against Bishop Fenwick, St. John’s Prep, Burlington and Wayland. These matches will serve as a laboratory for experimenting with formations and honing set‑piece execution before the regular season opener.
