On Sunday afternoon the Marblehead Youth Soccer 10th grade boys team captured the Essex County Youth Soccer championship, edging the Danvers Falcons 4-1 in a match that turned dramatically in the second half.
The Midshipmen entered the break trailing 1-0, but a tactical adjustment and renewed intensity sparked a three‑goal burst that put them ahead, sealing the win with a fourth marker before the final whistle.
A roster built on depth
Coach Massi Coe praised the collective effort, noting that the squad’s depth was evident in the contributions of players such as Brayden Coe, Brayden Whorf, Cameron Wilkins, Charles VanHoven and the rest of the 22‑member lineup.
Among the standouts were Jacob Greenway, Joseph Merle and Markus Faust, who each added key plays, while goaltender Finn Kelly made several crucial saves in the second half.
With the championship secured, the team looks ahead to the next season, confident that the experience gained will fuel further growth.
