Marcel Reed, the Texas A&M quarterback, opened a youth football camp in College Station that attracted more than 650 participants. The event took place at Wellborn Middle School and was designed for children ranging from five to sixteen years old.
Drills, a Brief Scrimmage, and Personal Interaction
Campers rotated through a series of skill drills that emphasized fundamentals and teamwork. Reed served as the quarterback in a 15‑minute scrimmage for each group, throwing passes and offering guidance. After the game‑like segment, he spent four hours moving from station to station, handing out high fives and encouraging every participant.
This camp marked Reed’s first appearance in the Brazos Valley, a region he had not previously targeted with his football clinics. Earlier in his career, he had organized similar events in Tennessee, where he also drew sizable crowds of young athletes.
Beyond the on‑field work, the camp provided a chance for Reed to connect with the community, sharing his passion for the sport and serving as a role model for aspiring players. The overwhelming turnout underscores the growing interest in youth football across the region.
