The 23‑year‑old is taking part in a high‑intensity training camp in Klagenfurt, where he works side by side with fellow NHLer J.J. Peterka and a handful of other elite European players.
A Nine‑Hour Daily Regimen
The camp’s schedule is demanding, with five hours dedicated to on‑ice work and four hours to off‑ice conditioning. Kasper describes the routine as a blend of skating drills, strength training and recovery sessions, all designed to sharpen his game before the upcoming season.
Sunshine League Commitment
When the Austrian winter fades, Kasper will join the Sunshine League, a summer competition that features teams such as the Lendhaffen Sea Lions. He will be joined by Peterka, Mario Kempe, Damian Clara and Michael Grabner, all of whom are expected to bring a high level of competition to the league.
In addition to his club duties, Kasper will represent the Red Wings organization in a different context. The team’s 2024 draft pick, Michal Oršulák, has earned an invitation to an elite skills camp in Czechia, where he will test his abilities against the nation’s top goaltenders born in 2007 or 2008.
Oršulák’s Draft Journey and Camp Experience
Oršulák, who was selected 79th overall in the NHL Entry Draft, posted a 2.22 goals‑against average and a .907 save percentage last season with the WHL’s Prince Albert Raiders. The camp he will attend is limited to the nine best net‑minders in Czechia, making the invitation a notable endorsement of his development.
The recognition does not stop with current players. A Swedish hockey website, Hockey Sverige, is assembling All‑Decade Teams that honor former Red Wings legends. Nicklas Lidstrom, a seven‑time Norris Trophy winner and four‑time Stanley Cup champion, appears in the 1990s squad, while Daniel Alfredsson, another Detroit stalwart, is also celebrated.
