A Fresh Approach to Player Development
Marcus Brock has been appointed head strength and conditioning coach for LSU men's basketball, a move announced by head coach Will Wade that signals a new chapter for the Tigers' physical preparation.
Brock arrives after three seasons as the top strength coach at Missouri State, where he crafted both team-wide and individualized training regimens. His tenure there was marked by measurable gains in player durability and performance.
Prior to Missouri State, he honed his craft as an assistant at the University of Texas and Baylor, and gained professional experience at Florida Atlantic. He also played college basketball at Incarnate Word, graduating in 2016 with a degree in kinesiology, and earned certifications from the NSCA as a CSCS/CPT and in CPR/AED first aid.
Coach Wade praised Brock's ability to design specialized programs that meet the unique needs of each athlete, noting that the new hire aligns perfectly with LSU's ambition to elevate conditioning standards.
A native of San Antonio, Texas, Brock starred at Madison High School before his collegiate career, earning academic all‑state honors and a reputation for disciplined work ethic. His background blends academic rigor with hands‑on coaching experience, positioning him to contribute immediately to the Tigers' roster.
