The 41st annual Pioneer Golf Outing concluded with a celebrated triumph as the Marietta College Baseball alumni team secured the championship with an 18‑under‑par performance, marking their third consecutive victory in the event.
A Record‑Breaking Victory
The foursome of Brian Brewer, Scott McVicar, Logan Vietmeier and Gordan Vietmeier completed the par‑70 course in just 52 strokes, two strokes ahead of the runner‑up team.
The second‑place finish went to Karson Snyder, Ross Snyder, Garrett Schiller and Matt Murphy, who posted a 16‑under‑par score, underscoring the narrow but decisive margin between the top two teams.
Sponsorship and Community Impact
BSN Sports, a longtime title sponsor, partnered with Fairfield Inn, FieldTurf, Gillard Custom Cabinets, Hall Financial, Lang Elliott Wealth Advisors, Parkhurst, Pickering Associates, Raymond James, Sir Speedy and Two Rivers NIL to bring the event to life. Their contributions were complemented by prize donations, including a TaylorMade Golf Clubs set claimed by Steve Anderson and two pairs of Jordan golf shoes supplied by the sponsor.
Additional recognition went to the volleyball program, which captured the Golden Musket for the second time as the sport generating the most fundraising support.
The event also featured the 14th annual Pioneer Challenge, while hole‑prize winners Tracy Blasius, Kail Hill, Rocky Roberts and Jen Tinkler added further excitement.
With 28 teams and 112 golfers competing, the 2026 field demonstrated the broad appeal of the outing. The Marietta College athletic department took the opportunity to thank participants and expressed optimism for another successful gathering in 2027.
