Marino Graham, a sophomore quarterback hailing from New Castle, Pennsylvania, has quickly become a standout figure in high school football. Earlier this month he volunteered to clean up the school gymnasium, a small act that reflects the humility he shows on and off the field.
Last season he guided New Castle to a co‑conference championship and a run to the WPIAL semifinals, earning the Class 4A Parkway Conference Offensive Most Valuable Player award in the process.
His statistical line was equally impressive: 2,600 total yards, 34 touchdowns, 129 completions of 219 attempts for 1,719 yards and 21 scores, plus 130 rushing attempts that yielded 847 yards and 13 more touchdowns. He even turned in a 221‑yard rushing performance with three passing touchdowns in a 45‑0 victory over Knoch, and a 110‑yard, four‑score effort in a 34‑14 win over Montour.
A Season of Milestones
Beyond the numbers, Graham’s versatility was on full display when he accounted for over 300 yards of total offense in a single game, underscoring his ability to impact the game in multiple ways.
The standout performances earned him a scholarship offer from Sacramento State, a Division I program that recognized both his athletic talent and his character.
Off the Field Influence
Graham’s dedication to community service is not limited to the gym. He often spends free time mentoring younger players, emphasizing the importance of preparation, hard work and teamwork.
The quarterback is named after Pittsburgh-born NFL legend Dan Marino, a connection that became personal when he met the Hall of Famer at a local restaurant at age eight, an encounter that left a lasting impression.
