Mark LaCroix named head baseball coach at Lake Region State College
Lake Region State College announced this week that Mark LaCroix will take the reins of the Royals baseball program starting July 6, bringing a blend of North Dakota roots and a proven coaching pedigree.
LaCroix arrives after seven seasons at Dakota College at Bottineau, where he guided the Lumberjacks to a 19‑29 record in 2024 and a 16‑30 mark in 2025, while also steering Renville County to a second‑place finish in Region 7 this past summer.
A background of growth and development
Beyond those numbers, he has a reputation for shaping recruiting strategies, monitoring academic progress and fostering player growth, responsibilities he previously handled while leading the DCB program.
The college noted that this appointment marks the fourth head coach change in the baseball program over the past five years, following the resignation of Steve Anderson after two seasons.
Looking ahead
During the summer, LaCroix continues to coach the Williston Oilers, a role that will likely inform his approach to player development and community engagement as he transitions to his new duties. The athletics department also plans new leadership for women’s basketball and women’s hockey, signaling a broader shift across the programs.
