Mark Mitchell, a former Missouri standout, has officially joined the University of Kentucky after a court ruling in Louisville cleared the way for his entry into the NCAA transfer portal.
The decision follows a temporary injunction that allowed Mitchell to bypass previous eligibility restrictions, cementing his place on the Wildcats' roster for the upcoming season.
During his last campaign, Mitchell posted averages of 18.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game while shooting 54.7% from the field, earning him a spot on the All‑SEC Second Team.
His blend of scoring, playmaking and size is expected to deepen Kentucky’s frontcourt and add a new layer of athleticism to the team’s dynamics.
What This Means for Kentucky’s Outlook
The Wildcats, already regarded as a borderline top‑ten contender, now have a proven collegiate performer who can contribute immediately. The coaching staff believes Mitchell’s experience will complement the existing talent and help the program maintain its competitive edge.
