Marquette High School football claimed a commanding 69-45 victory over Kettle Moraine on Friday night, showcasing a balanced attack that combined a relentless defense with efficient quarterback play. The final score reflected Marquette’s ability to capitalize on turnovers while maintaining possession throughout the contest.
Defensive Mastery Fuels Marquette's Onslaught
The Marquette defense proved decisive, with cornerback Kadre Lee hounding Kettle Moraine quarterback Cooper Walker and forcing pressure that led to two interceptions by safety Caleb Miller. Miller’s picks, one in the first half and another in the third, swung momentum and set up short fields for the Marquette offense. Defensive end Silas Kwaterski added a key tackle that halted a potential drive, while linebacker Jett Allen and safety Atticus Godfrey combined to force a punt that gave Marquette excellent field position.
Quarterback Ben Schroeder orchestrated the Marquette offense, delivering precise passes that resulted in a 40-yard gain to Ryan Mahn and multiple scoring opportunities. His connection with receivers such as Marley Mahaga and Judah Sanders produced several touchdowns, while the ground game kept Kettle Moraine guessing. The Marquette special teams also contributed, as the combination of Jett Allen and Atticus Godfrey pinned Kettle Moraine deep, leading to a short field that culminated in a touchdown.
Kettle Moraine answered with a pair of scores from Nico Yttre and Chase O’Connell, but the Marquette defense held firm after those bursts, limiting the visitors to just 45 points. The game featured standout moments such as a 40-yard pass to Ryan Mahn and a series of strategic plays that highlighted the depth of talent across the Marquette roster, including contributions from Ben Schroeder, Caleb Miller, and the celebrated touchdowns of Marley Mahaga and Judah Sanders.
