A Milestone for the Program
The Marshall University men’s basketball team has announced a demanding non‑conference schedule for the 2026‑27 season, featuring road contests against Ohio State and the University of North Carolina.
The first test will take place at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio, a venue that can seat up to 19,500 fans, while the second will be held at the Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, which accommodates 21,750 spectators.
Both meetings carry historical significance; the Ohio State game marks the third all‑time encounter and the first since the 2016‑17 season, and the North Carolina matchup represents the fourth historic meeting and the first since 2009‑10.
Coach Cornelius Jackson expressed enthusiasm for the schedule, stating that the games will showcase the team’s development and competitiveness on a national stage while giving supporters the chance to experience two of college basketball’s premier arenas.
Beyond the on‑court challenges, the road trips provide the Herd with valuable exposure and an opportunity to build momentum as the program continues its upward trajectory under Jackson’s leadership.
