A challenging opening stretch
The Marshfield High Rams will begin the 2026 football season with three straight road contests, testing their mettle against longtime rivals Milton, Mansfield and Bridgewater‑Raynham within the first three weeks.
Coming off an 8‑3 campaign in 2025 that captured the Patriot League Keenan Division crown, the Rams enter the new year with momentum but also with significant turnover on defense.
Head coach Chris Arouca acknowledges the loss of middle linebacker Charlie Leach and defensive back Jameson Bongiolatti, who anchored a unit that helped the team finish 6‑2 in the regular season and nearly advance to the Division 3 state tournament.
Among the returning leaders is rising senior quarterback Nate Rollinson, who previously steered the offense and even scored a touchdown in the 16‑6 victory over Duxbury on Thanksgiving, while Sean Chesebro adds depth at other positions.
Road tests and tournament hopes
The schedule then unfolds with home matchups against Silver Lake (Oct. 9), Plymouth North (Oct. 16), Hingham (Oct. 23) and Whitman‑Hanson (Oct. 30), before the traditional Thanksgiving clash with Duxbury on Nov. 26. A Thanksgiving win could cement a strong finish and improve the Rams’ odds of securing a berth in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament.
With the early road tests serving as a crucible for new defensive schemes, the Rams hope to translate experience into a deep postseason run.
