Cleveland’s baseball narrative, marked by successive monikers such as the Spiders, Indians and Guardians, will be celebrated in a public presentation on August 9 at the Lake County Historical Society in Painesville Township.

Marty Gitlin, a former News-Herald staff writer, will lead the session, drawing on decades of research and personal archives to illuminate the team’s cultural impact on the region.
The program will blend video excerpts, historic photographs and trivia, guiding attendees through pivotal moments that shaped the franchise’s identity over more than a century.
