The Maryland Terrapins will open their 2026‑27 non‑conference slate on November 7, when they travel to Washington, D.C., to face the Georgetown Hoyas at the Capital One Arena.
A Rivalry Steeped in History
The series between Maryland and Georgetown stretches back to February 15, 1911, and the Terps currently lead 38‑28 in the all‑time record. Last season the Hoyas secured a 70‑60 victory in the XFINITY Center, and the two schools have only ever met twice in the NCAA Tournament, in 1980 and 2001.
Beyond the Georgetown matchup, Maryland’s 2026‑27 non‑conference slate includes contests against Virginia, Tennessee and several other nationally recognized programs, providing a challenging early‑season test for the squad.
The campaign will also celebrate the 25th anniversary of Maryland’s 2002 NCAA National Championship, with a series of special promotions and commemorative gifts slated for season ticket holders.
