With the 2026 collegiate women's soccer season on the horizon, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) has unveiled its preseason watchlist, spotlighting standout athletes who are poised to shape the upcoming campaign. This year, the Terrapins boast four representatives, each bringing a blend of youthful dynamism and seasoned expertise.
National Watchlist Highlights
The quartet—Ella Beach, Josie Hollamon, Alyssa Klebasko, and Francisca Eschoyez—embodies the program’s depth on the national stage. Their selections reflect not only individual brilliance but also the Terrapins’ growing reputation as a powerhouse in East Coast soccer.
Freshman forward Ella Beach arrives in College Park with a résumé that already includes appearances for the U.S. U‑16, U‑18 and U‑21 squads, as well as participation in the Junior World Cup and Junior Pan Am Games. A high school All‑American, she brings a national‑team pedigree that could instantly influence Maryland’s attacking options.
Senior midfielder Josie Hollamon caps a four‑year tenure that includes two All‑Big Ten first‑team honors and a career tally of 14 goals. Known for her relentless work rate and clutch finishing, Hollamon’s experience will be a cornerstone for the Terrapins’ midfield.
Also a senior, Alyssa Klebasko has earned three All‑Big Ten selections and was named to the 2025 NFHCA All‑Mid Atlantic Region Second Team. Her consistent performances earned her a spot on the U.S. U‑21 Women’s National Team earlier this year, underscoring her status as one of the nation’s top collegiate talents.
Perhaps the most internationally seasoned of the group, Francisca Eschoyez captained the Italian U‑21 side from 2021 to 2025 and led the senior Italian National Team during that period. In 2025 she was crowned Big East Offensive Player of the Year, collected Third Team All‑American honors from the NFHCA, and previously secured First Team All‑Big East and All‑Midwest Region accolades.
The convergence of fresh talent and veteran leadership positions Maryland’s program for a compelling 2026 campaign. As the watchlist acknowledgment suggests, the Terrapins are not merely participants but contenders whose influence will extend well beyond the Big Ten.
