Mason Morise, a Northlake Christian alumnus who once chased the ball for the Wolverines, is now stepping into the head coach’s office for both the boys’ and girls’ soccer programs. His playing days culminated in a state title match appearance in 2014, a moment that forged his deep connection to the school’s soccer culture.
Nick Chetta, the longtime architect of the program, announced his retirement earlier this summer. In a quiet but persistent conversation, Chetta urged Morise to take the reins of the boys’ team, emphasizing the continuity of a shared philosophy.
Morise, now in his seventh season leading the girls’ squad, brings a 61‑39‑17 record and a streak of annual playoff victories to the combined role. He says he will trim his commitments at the Mandeville Soccer Club to concentrate on the upcoming prep season, ensuring that both programs receive his full attention.
