Mason Stoltenberg Named 30th Head Coach of Wisconsin‑Stout Baseball
Mason Stoltenberg has been appointed as the 30th head coach of the University of Wisconsin‑Stout Polytechnic baseball program, taking the reins of the Blue Devils with a clear vision for competitive growth.
A Proven Track Record
Stoltenberg arrives after a distinguished tenure that includes a decade at the University of La Verne, where he served nine years as a full‑time assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, and a recent stint as an assistant at UW‑Oshkosh during the 2025‑26 academic year.
During his time at La Verne, he helped guide the Leopards to NCAA Division III Super Regional appearances in 2023 and 2024, and the coaching staff earned SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year honors in both seasons.
As recruiting coordinator, he oversaw talent acquisition, developed practice plans, and managed travel logistics, while also playing a pivotal role in fundraising that generated more than $120,000 for the program over seven years.
A Player‑Coach Background
His playing career includes two seasons at La Verne, where he batted .290 with a .353 on‑base percentage, and earlier stints at Merced College, where he earned all‑conference honors and contributed to a conference championship.
Stoltenberg also brings experience as a scout and site supervisor for Baseball Factory and Under Armour since 2015, and he has served nine years as a senior adjunct professor in the university’s Kinesiology Department.
With a bachelor's degree in kinesiology (2013) and a master's in management and leadership (2015), he combines academic insight with on‑field expertise, aiming to elevate the Blue Devils' program both on and off the diamond.
