New Coaches and Fresh Ambitions
Central Catholic High School entered the conversation with a revamped staff, welcoming new head coach John Dubzinski while retaining key players such as quarterback Caden Smith and lineman Brian Waller-Reitano. Meanwhile, St. John’s Prep, fresh off a 2025 season that saw them reach the championship game, aims to capture the Div. 1 state title, having fallen short to rival Xaverian.
Xaverian High School, chasing its fourth straight Agganis Trophy, announced a new mindset focused on setting higher standards for the program. Across the board, teams emphasized aggressive scheduling and targeted recruitment to bolster their prospects.
The coaching carousel continued with Brian Lee stepping down after 21 seasons at King Philip High School, making way for Anthony Vizakis, who transitioned from an assistant role to head coach. Lee’s departure marked the end of an era, while Vizakis looks to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor.
Looking ahead, organizers plan to expand the Media Day in 2024, seeking a larger venue to accommodate more teams and broaden media exposure.
