A season built on experience
Master’s University’s men’s soccer program enters the 2026 season with a roster that blends proven collegiate talent and promising newcomers. The coaching staff has emphasized continuity, leveraging a core of upperclassmen who have already logged extensive GSAC competition.
Key returnees lead the charge
Trent Rickard, who missed a stretch of the 2025 campaign due to injury, returns for his fourth year and remains the team’s offensive anchor. Despite sitting out eight games, he topped the conference with 14 goals, underscoring his ability to find the net when it matters most.
Adiel Kaduya, the playmaker who paced the squad with assists in 2024, also makes a full return after a redshirt year in 2025. His six goals that season, coupled with his vision in midfield, give the team a dynamic dual threat in both scoring and creating opportunities.
Depth across the field
The roster boasts seventeen upperclassmen who have accumulated valuable GSAC experience, many of whom earned All‑GSAC recognition. Defensive stalwart Clinton Mawusi is among the standout performers, bringing stability to the back line and leadership to younger teammates.
Coaching philosophy and team culture
Head coach Jim Rickard stresses the importance of maintaining high energy throughout the long season. His approach focuses on disciplined preparation, balanced minutes for veterans, and a collective mindset that values each player’s contribution to the team’s overall rhythm.
New faces bring fresh energy
Among the most anticipated additions is Franco Barba, a goalkeeper arriving from Eastern Illinois University. Known for his reflexes and command of the penalty area, Barba is expected to bolster the defensive unit and provide a reliable last line of defense.
A packed schedule ahead
The 2026 slate begins with a series of scrimmages and home fixtures against Bethda University and Stanton before the conference season kicks off. The team will open league play against reigning GSAC champions La Sierra, then host Life Pacific, Arizona Christian, Hope International, Soka and Park Gilbert. Road trips will take the squad to face Hope International, Embry‑Riddle, La Sierra, OUAZ, Benedictine Mesa and Soka again.
Out‑of‑conference matches are also on the horizon, featuring contests against The College of Idaho, Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech. These games will test the team’s versatility and help fine‑tune strategies before the GSAC tournament.
With a blend of seasoned veterans, impact newcomers and a clear tactical vision, Master’s University’s men’s soccer team is poised to meet the rigors of a demanding schedule and aim for a strong finish in the upcoming season.
