Free Basketball Opportunity for Maui Middle Schoolers
The County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation has announced that registration for its Menehune Basketball League will be open from August 3 through August 14, 2026. The program is designed for boys and girls in sixth, seventh and eighth grades and will commence on September 1, concluding on December 10 of the same year.
Games will be held at various County gymnasiums across the island, providing convenient access for families throughout Maui. The league emphasizes inclusive participation, guaranteeing that every registered player will be placed on a team regardless of skill level.
Registration carries no fee, making the program accessible to all interested middle‑school students. Prospective participants can obtain forms at any Department of Parks and Recreation recreation office or download them directly from the County’s official website.
