The Hamilton Hammers announced this week that they have secured forward Max Ellis on a one-year agreement, a move aimed at strengthening their attacking options for the upcoming season.

Ellis, 26, arrives after a stint in the Kontinental Hockey League where he recorded 16 goals and 14 assists across 52 games for HK Sochi and the Shanghai Dragons during the 2025‑26 campaign.
Prior to that, he spent the 2024‑25 season in Finland’s Liiga with Jukurit, contributing eight goals and ten assists in 25 appearances.
His North American experience includes two seasons in the American Hockey League with the Toronto Marlies, where he posted 14 goals and 20 assists in 87 games.
Ellis also honed his game at the University of Notre Dame, amassing 22 goals and 23 assists over 71 NCAA appearances.

The Hammers’ management believes Ellis’s blend of size, skill and versatility will add depth to a forward group that is eager to contend, and his familiarity with the North American style should make the transition smoother.
