A New Chapter for UMass Hockey
Maxim Massé, the 6‑3, 198‑pound forward from Rimouski, Quebec, has officially committed to the University of Massachusetts for the 2026‑27 season, becoming the fourth new addition to the roster and joining a program eager to blend size, skill, and offensive flair.
The Anaheim Ducks selected him in the third round, 66th overall, in the 2024 draft, acknowledging a player whose physical presence and well‑developed shot make him a standout prospect for the next level.
A Junior Career Defined by Awards
Massé’s time in the QMJHL reads like a catalogue of honors: he captured the Jean Beliveau Trophy as the league’s top point‑producer in 2025‑26, earned MVP honors, and helped the Chicoutimi Saguenéens win the league championship.
Over 242 regular‑season games he accumulated 298 points, including 149 goals and 149 assists, and he represented Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup and the Under‑18 World Junior Championship, winning gold on both occasions.
Known for his offensive instincts and a well‑rounded game, Massé is expected to contribute immediately, adding depth and scoring punch to the Minutemen’s attack as they look to rebuild around a promising new core.
